Caps have been a very popular form of headgear that are used almost everywhere around the world. It is available in various shapes and sizes, colors and patterns. There are a range of varieties in caps that are named according to their function and the profession of the cap wearer. These are baseball caps, engineer caps, fiddler caps, newsboy caps, nurse caps, patrol caps, sailor caps, and police caps and so on. Amongst these baseball caps are the kind of caps that are not only worn by the baseball players but widely popularized and worn by people of all ages and groups. These people may include either baseball lovers or just people who use it as a fashion accessory.


It is a well rounded cap made up of soft material with an extended stiff brim that may either be curved or flat. The back of the cap has an adjuster that is either made up of elastic, Velcro or plastic. This helps in adjusting the fitting of the cap according to the size of the head. These caps are hugely popular in the United States, Brazil and Japan. The Brooklyn Excelsiors were the pioneers who used these caps first in 1860. It was only in 1940 that baseball caps were manufactured with a lining of latex rubber in them thus giving rise to the modern baseball caps.

The caps are a part of the baseball uniform and are in tune with the uniform in terms of design, color and pattern. It gives an overall sporty look that looks both smart and sturdy. These caps when worn by the common people look equally good. It enhances their personality to greater levels. It gives a taller look thus making the person look brilliant, sassy and sharp. It gives the impression of being a hard-worker who involves in physical activities under the sun. This is because these caps are worn by sturdy men working in construction sites as well men in other professions like electricians, mechanics, engineers and even men in the military.

These caps also look extremely good on women and children. Children love to imitate their favorite sports person so they never fail to wear caps that are replicas of the ones worn by their sport icons. Most of the outdoor games are played wearing these caps. It gives a feeling of being a baseball player themselves. Women also who are into sports or who just want to match their t-shirt and jeans with a trendy baseball cap look gorgeous when they do so. The cap covers half of the head leaving the rest of the hair flowing down or on the other hand females wearing these caps usually pull out their hair into a pony via the gap in the adjuster behind. Both these looks give a boost to their personality and make them feel rather sporty and strong. Other than that, baseball caps also serve as a shield from the sunrays and partially protect the face from getting tanned. Sometimes these caps are worn reverse or sideways by many. It depends on their mood or sometimes depends on their profession like photographers who might want to use their cameras whilst wearing these caps. Thus baseball caps have been in trend for a long time and still remain to be the worlds most popular headgears for people of all ages, sex and location.
